Convert cutting data into machine settings

CNC Speeds and Feeds Calculator

Calculate spindle speed, table feed, feed per revolution and cutting time from metric tool data.

Method

How this tool works

RPM = cutting speed × 1,000 ÷ (π × diameter). Table feed = chip load × RPM × effective teeth.

Worked example

A 10 mm, 4-flute cutter at 100 m/min and 0.05 mm/tooth runs at about 3,183 RPM and 637 mm/min.

Use responsibly

Assumptions & limitations

Start with tooling and material data from the manufacturer. Machine rigidity, engagement, coolant and workholding can require a lower setting.
