Use more of your own solar power

Solar Self-consumption Calculator

Compare current and target solar self-consumption, grid imports, exports and the estimated annual value of shifting electricity use into sunny hours.

Method

How this tool works

Direct use is capped by annual household consumption. Each extra self-consumed kWh avoids the import tariff but gives up the entered export compensation.

Worked example

Raising direct use of 4,000 kWh annual generation from 30% to 60% shifts 1,200 kWh from export to household use when consumption is high enough.

Use responsibly

Assumptions & limitations

This annual model does not simulate hourly generation, appliance schedules, battery dispatch, curtailment or tariff changes. Treat the target percentage as a scenario, not a forecast.
